We are afraid
We wake up to a bubble of sunshine
But a world of horror
Living in fear 
that our last day is near

We are afraid
We hide from adventure
As time passes us by
As the clouds float above
Not able to laugh and love

We are afraid
As we are presented with solutions
We nod our heads in shame
As wars rage across the world
With millions dying so so cold

We are afraid
The wind cries out loud in our silence
As they rip apart our towns
Mother nature makes it her mission
but we still don’t listen

We are afraid
When we get old and frail
We get closer to the bright white light
Our family weeps with their heads down
As their tears fill the room enough to drown

We are afraid
Our indifference clouds our judgment
Our world is full of darkness
As bodies drop like flies
Like rain, but with cries

We are afraid
We divide each other
Into black, white, and gray
We get lost in confusion
As the lines blur as an allusion

Because at the end of the day
We are all human
