Three Worlds

Gino Ndiko, Grade 12
UWCEA Arusha

Cries from a little village can be heard
A little girl sits helplessly
Next to the body of her dearly departed mother
Riddled with poverty and disease
She fights to live another day

Cries from a dirty slum can be heard
A little boy wakes up in the morning
To go to the street to beg for money
His father too drunk and sleepy to work
He fights to live another day

Cries from an extravagant mansion can be heard
A minister lies in fatigue
After a long day of redirecting funds
His body filled with the fruits, not of his labour
He lives to fight another day
