I have spent my foundation program year at CSC for over five months with my lovely friends and so many beautiful memories. Most time of this year was not so busy that we had time for making new friends and getting used to our fantastic school lives. So, I met a lot of new friends, and we created a great number of unforgettable deep memories. The lives in UWC could have been either boring or splendid. What really fascinated me was that the amazing UWCers were the ones who shaped or determined the uniqueness and diversity of our experiences in UWC.
The most impressive thing was that we, my friends and I, had a ‘homemade festival’. This ‘festival’ is usually in the evening before weekends or change of pace days. We will celebrate it by watching several films and lying on the sofa in the common room. Every week, we would first choose about 5-6 films to be on our ‘wait-list’. Then we just vote for which one to watch in that evening.
Usually, most of us are eagerly watching horror films because it has an extremely good atmosphere if we turned off the lights in the common room and crowded together. However, there are always one or two of us afraid of watching horror films. So, they just have a nap before the next film begin, and we are not going to force him or her as well. Anyway, most of the time we can come to an agreement on which one to watch.
Since we have several films to watch, we usually sleep in the next morning and nights are pretty long for us. That means we will easily get hungry through the long night. So, snacks and supper are definitely necessary. We sometimes order fried chickens and sometimes spicy hot pot, with bubble tea, before curfew absolutely. Bubble tea is the ‘life-blood’ to accompany us, even the whole CSC, through the long night and long learning journey, haha!
I love my friends, and I love my school life in CSC. Here is like a big family that contains so many different people and everyone can find their own friends, probably even bosom friends. No one would be excluded, and all of us are always together. I have not seen my friends for over three months till now, and I really miss them!
