Aarav Sharma, Grade 4
UWCSEA (East)
Tring-Tring-Tring-Tring goes my alarm clock everyday waking me up on time for school at 6:45 am sharp. While I took a shower, I looked at the clock and saw the time; it was already 7:15 am, and my bus was about to leave! I packed my bag and threw it over my shoulder then I dashed down the stairs since the elevator takes too long to reach the second floor.
I saw my bus parked right in front of my block waiting for me, all the older kids were on their phones, either listening to music or watching something. Arriving at the campus, I see kids wearing blue, green, or white shirts carrying their bags and rushing to their classes, not knowing how different their next 7 hours at school could be. I know how fun and stressful this school is, but I wonder how different it is for the other 60,000 kids in the rest 17 school in the world.
We all know that the next dayis going to be better than the first, and it will be if you are always kind and disciplined. We should give a helping hand to others even if they didn’t ask for it, if you think that they need help you should help them. UWC is helping and encouraging you to be a lot smarter, and we should really respect that.
Everyone in our school is always so kind, helping each other and playing their part in the UWC community. Being in UWC is a lot more than a fortune, you should be happy and always be Safe, Responsible, and Respectful (SRR). Doing all of the SRR’s makes you a better person.
In Grade 2 school started to get a lot harder, we were in school 1-2 hours more than Grade 1, the teachers wanted more discipline, and the whole class was expected to play with everybody. Currently, I am in Grade 4 going to Grade 5 in a few months and predicting a lot more changes since that is my last year in primary school. I think that one main change that will happen in every grade is discipline.

As I grow older in my UWC community, I wonder how it will help me to become a better person and bring the best out of me. As I grow older, I think life is not getting hard only for you but for everybody else. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals that we need to achieve by 2030, so if we all work together, we can achieve our 17 goals. Some easy but effective ways to save our planets is to visit the beach and clean it up. Another easy way to help our planet is to use reusable bags instead of plastic bags. We all should make conscious efforts to make our planet greener and healthier. Now, with only ten years left, everyone needs to start to help each other in all possible ways. Together we make a bigger difference and alone we make a smaller difference.
After you finish reading this article, I want you to always remember that we are stronger together than alone. Always help each other no matter what, even if they didn’t ask for any help. |
