UWCEA (Arusha)

Our School Entrance
This stunning location lies in Northern Tanzania and contains favorable all year weather from January to December. It is easily accessible; only a 90 minute drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport and is also served by the next door Arusha Airport. Visitors can enter with a visa on arrival and can contact the school for the free airport to boarding house transfers.
The first view that greets you on arrival to this wonderful paradise is of the destination’s flag: ‘United World Colleges’ painted in bold colors at its gate, along with the welcoming smiles of the men and women who form the security personnel. Upon disembarking, you have copious options ahead of you at the main pavilion, of which choosing where to start is a difficult task.

The locality is abundant with nature in its trees and fields. More than ten species of songbirds roost in plentiful pretty trees while plump felines bask in the warm sunshine, purring with glee. There are also quite many natural sights to behold. Among them is the pond at the foot of the football stadium in the West, or the rock garden that you pass on the path to your accommodation. These are complemented by the extravagant view of the glorious Mount Meru, which rises up above the fluffy clouds majestically.

Guest Accommodation
A Maasai inspired central lobby provides a comfortable area to do your work or drink delicious tea. But if you need more privacy, the lovely interior of your room is a worthy alternative. Guests can choose to stay in a raised bed with their desk and wardrobe underneath or choose a traditional bedroom arrangement.

The UWC Arusha Community
Of course, your fellow guests are what make this location a brilliant place to stay and socialize in. Coming from more than twenty countries around the world, these boys and girls make your day an extra special one, and craft this place into a home away from home.

Away from your lodging, more than twenty other nationalities are also represented around the locality during the day, with more varying ages and experience present, but with the same amount of charm and spark.

This community is what makes UWC Arusha a special place and a world-class destination for any teenager to visit from Juba to Lima, just a few of the many places from around the world that it’s visitors come from.
