Since primary school, creation has been my passion. Be it art or ideas or projects, I love any artistic way of delivering a message, for example, working with various artists from Hilla during the 25th October Revolution to paint the “Revolution Bridge,” as well as working with multiple voluntary projects, workshops about peacebuilding, conflict resolution, etc., and voluntary teams as Art Director or Creative Director for the team(s).
I think that words are not always enough to deliver a message. By mixing art with words, we’re going to make an entire scene for anyone to think of better than usual words. “Iksirha” (Woman-Empowerment Campaign in Lebanon) was one of the most impactful artistic ways to change a whole culture through mixing art with words. This campaign is what I idolize while aiming to make a difference in society.
Art is a human’s way of describing things they’re not capable of spelling out with everyday vocab.
As we live in a closed society, most of the time, we’re unable to speak our minds freely, so we reflect our thoughts through art; by mixing ideas with feelings, we get some of our most adorable pictures of reality with just a piece of paper.
My grandfather had a library(the oldest one in modern Hilla city), which I frequented as I grew older., l get amazed by books of our old art, from Babylonian to the contemporary Islamic designs, and while my sense of art refined with time, my interest led me towards Graphic Designing, I was not sure how to help my society, so a friend of mine had an idea of volunteering in an online project, me as in “the Junior Designer” and him as “the Start-Ups/Marketing guy” and since then I volunteer as Media/Designer’s team in most of the volunteering places starting from online projects such as Chaiselounge mental health awareness project, Dialogue Leaders English Training Program, Mercy is Coming animal protection awareness team, etc., as well the in-person organizations such as the greatest “Rose and Pen” NGO which specializes in development of young people starting from age 5-14, IQ Peace center where I committed to deliver the message of peace by art, as we done many artistic festivals/events to carry the message of peace, and never forget TEDXBaghdad where we work aside people who deliver their thoughts throughout art!
I think that art is as essential as protesting to demand peace; each art piece carries a letter to be delivered, as many Arabian countries that lack freedom of speech goes for art to speak their minds peacefully, as well as demanding their rights and helping others with the letter that each and every one of us is trying to deliver.
