The sun blanketing the vast farmland
The breeze like a morning splash of cold water
Cycling behind Nana ji
On the antique, cracked roads
The sound of kirtan soothing to the mind
An uninvited guest
But a familiar face
Uprooting at the wheat
Ripping the seeds from the ground
The laws preventing future generations
From this fluttering experience
The squeak from the rope clenching to hear
Their children’s eyes covered with colourful chunnis
To hide them from the darkness the world adheres
To protest, we must
Through melting heat and nail biting cold
Food was always given
And protection always served
We’ve always shielded you
It's time you shield us
