My country is located in the horn of Africa, a region where war and conflict is really common. It is ancient state found in the north of Kenya, south of
Eritrea, west of Somalia and east of Sudan. Ethiopia, the owner of great victory, the symbol of black freedom, the birth place of heroes, the home of
Adawa conquerors and the only country that was not colonized.
Due to the strategic importance of the Red Sea, the region of the Horn of Africa, which has been the subject of political intrigue since ancient times,
has never seen lasting peace and stability. Specially in Ethiopia, this problem is getting worse day to day, and new
crises and scandals have become common.
Extremist and arrogant elements who promote extremely corrupt and racial politics, who do not want Ethiopia’s stability, greedy and conspiratorial
foreign elements in cooperation, armed to bring down the honorable country.
The war that has been taking place in the northern part of our country, where Ethiopian Defense Forces were betrayed by the people, brutally
murdered and which attracted the world’s attention, is the primary issue.
This most bloody and destructive war was started by the terrorist TPLF(Tigray People Liberation Front) group and continued by the secret
agenda and mission of foreign powers.
Before the war broke out, the Nobel peace prize laureate, our dear Prime minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, repeatedly extended his hands for peace, showed
great patience and was calling for peace and brotherhood at every occasion. Consequently, even though this group called TPLF has been inflicting
great abuses on the people of Ethiopia during their 27 years in power, our reformist prime minister, gave priority to peace and forgave them on behalf
of people of Ethiopia.
However, the TPLF group, considered the patience and tolerance of the prime Minister as fear, and launched an attack on the National Defense force of the Northern command in a highly planned way in November 3, 2020.
Immediately, the Ethiopian combined army retaliated, fought with great bravery and courage. within 3 weeks took control of Mekele, the capital city
of Tigray region, and scored a brilliant victory.
The TPLF group, which was running the region at that time, took the remaining fighters and descended into desert and conducted guriella
warfare.
After the National Defense Force had completed the law enforcement campaign in some form, they left the Tigray region by order of the Federal
government to allow the farmers of Tigray to rest and cultivate their fields during the rainy summer.
Taking this as a good opportunity and being supported by the international community, the terrorist group attacked and invaded Ethiopia again,
causing more damage to people and property.
This group has committed war crimes by using children to wage war, but the international community has ignored it.
The Ethiopian government was subjected to external pressure, sanctions and threats. After patiently waiting until they had about 250km left to
capture Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, the prime Minister himself marched to the front and sent the TPLF group back to Tigray province.
They destroyed many infrastructures, destroyed schools, raped women, killed and maimed innocent people, and caused severe moral and physical
harm.
The federal government has decided to temporarily suspend the armed forces to seek a peace solution, but it has been repeatedly stated that this
group is recruiting young people for the military.
In the meantime, people of Tigray, who have been suffering since the start of the war, are under severe oppression. No electricity, no banks, the cost
of living has hit the roof. Life in general is becoming very difficult in Tigray.
In order for this civil war to end, the international community must stop interfering in Ethiopia’s internal affairs and play their part in a balanced
manner. In addition, the federal government of Ethiopia should take all the necessary steps to promote peace and stability.
