Life itself has been a very beautiful and amazing gift which has been given to us by God himself and as such we should hold and maintain it in the very best way possible pleasing to Him the creator. I in person am very grateful to God for my life and being grateful I have a million reasons why Ima grateful. Without life I will not be writing this article today, without life the thought of me being a better person or joining the UWC family would not have come to existence.
It is the responsibility of any child to be grateful to the people who served as a bridge to their existence in this world, who are our parents. For me I owe my parents everything in this life just as a whole lot of you reading this article might as well be. You must be lost in thoughts of why I am grateful to my parents but I know most of you can easily assume why. To save you the trouble I am extremely grateful to my parents for having me and not terminating me when I was conceived, for being the sole pioneers of my affairs since Iwase born till date, for being there for me when I need them, in times of happiness and in times of pain and sadness, for training and teaching me good morals which has greatly aided me as a person in society and most importantly loving me
unconditionally.
As we all know “family is not an important thing but it is everything”. I also give a lot of gratitude to something which some of you would be surprised at but I hold this thing in a very high esteem as it aids to teach me about Allah who is my creator, prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the messenger of Allah and as well teach me to be a better person to the people around me and this beautiful and awesome thing of mine is my religion Islam.
I know most of you are happy excited or somehow grateful for being opportune to be part of the UWC family but for me I would say I am the most grateful because I will be joining the UWC on a scholarship which has come as a great assistance to my family which would not have been able to finance my dream of being part of the UWC family.
Most of us do have certain periods in our lives which we hold dear and are most grateful for having experienced them. My time in Prince of Wales is my high school is one which I will forever be grateful for, as during my time in Prince of Wales I was able to learn a lot of things, meet people of
great status in society and also make friends who had positive influences on my life and today I can proudly say I’m a principal after a memorable time spent.
You must have been part of an event which changed your entire being and as a result you give your utmost gratitude to of my case, I participated in the National Essay Competition (NEC) last year in November which is being held annually by the United Bank for Africa (UBA). At first my main motive for participating in last year’s essay competition was for the prizes which included a laptop to each of the 12 finalists and a LE 50,000,000 cash prize for the victor.
Being pessimistic about the whole thing I astonishingly made it to the 12 finalists and I received a laptop for being among after the results were out. You might not understand the significance of this event in my life but being candid,
I never saw creative writing as something significant but after this event I became more interested in creative writing. I know “the starting point of all achievements is desire” and I desire to be more beneficial to society my whole life.
